Botox and Filler
Botox is the brand name for a purified form of botulinum toxin type A. When injected in small doses into specific muscles, Botox blocks the chemical signals that cause muscles to contract. When the muscles can’t tighten, the skin flattens and appears smoother and less wrinkled.
This FDA approved treatment offers temporary treatment for moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows and is also used to treat other facial wrinkles such as the lines that fan out from the corners of the eyes (“crows feet”) and lines in the forehead.
A thin needle is used to inject tiny amounts of Botox into specific muscles. By carefully choosing the muscles to treat, weakens only the wrinkle-producing muscles to preserve your natural facial expressions.
The number of injections needed depends on many factors, including your facial features, the extent of the wrinkling and the specific area being treated. For example, crow’s-feet usually require two to five injections. Furrows in your forehead could take eight or more injections. Your health care provider will help you determine how much Botox is needed to achieve your desired results. You’ll notice results within a few days, but the full effect takes about two weeks. Results aren’t permanent, however, so to maintain your look, you need follow-up injections every 2-4 months.
The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.
When injected into the fat beneath your chin, KYBELLA® causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.
You and your injector will decide how many treatments you need. Once the desired aesthetic response is achieved with KYBELLA®, retreatment is not expected.
Juvéderm™ and Juvéderm Plus™
As you age, your skin changes. It reduces production of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). Over time, the loss of HA in your skin results in facial wrinkles and folds, like those “parentheses” lines around your mouth.
Juvéderm™ is the latest injectable dermal filler designed to add volume to the face and for treating wrinkles and fine lines. Juvederm Plus™ is a more robust formula
Juvéderm™ injectable gel replaces the HA your skin has lost, bringing back its volume and smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds. A breakthrough in HA dermal fillers, Juvéderm™ is the first smooth-consistency HA gel and the only HA gel that is FDA approved to last up to 1 year with only 1 treatment.
You can experience the benefits of Juvéderm™ injectable gel in a quick, in-office procedure. Your Medical Aesthetics skin care professional carefully injects Juvéderm™ under your skin to immediately smooth out the wrinkles and folds on your face. Instant results!
